Wholeness thus refers to a balance or harmony in the different facets of our human existence: physically, intellectually, emotionally and spiritually. A dis-ease or imbalance is an inconvenient disrupter that we usually try to suppress by medication or external resources until we eventually come to the conclusion that there is often no rapid solution. A healing process requires a good dose of determination; human support and inner awareness to better understand and change destructive life habits, limiting beliefs and patterns into more empowering ones.
Seen from this perspective, it becomes an opportunity and discovery journey to grow, learn and embrace the new in a healthier way. The ethos of the Uniting Church is to be inclusive of all people regardless of faith, cultural background, age, sex orientation or gender.
From 1 July , we will be known as Uniting — the new community services arm of the Uniting Church in Victoria and Tasmania. Read more about this new direction for Wesley. Wesley is joining with 21 UnitingCare agencies and two church business units, to become Uniting, allowing us to reach and support more local communities across two states.
As one organisation, our commitment to work with the most disadvantaged and vulnerable people does not change. And we already share common values with our sister agencies, born from our Christian foundations. However when we do unite on 1 July, we will have a new purpose and values guiding what we stand for and how we work together:.
